A trading coach for the moment your plan gives way
Most traders do not need a better strategy. They need someone watching at the moment they break their own rules. That moment can be trained, and that is what coaching at MTA is for.
A trading coach trains how you act under pressure, not which strategy you run. A course gives you knowledge. A coach works on execution: the moment you move your stop, exit early or force a setup. For most traders the loss sits there, not in the analysis.
Where can I find trading psychology coaching in the Netherlands?
MTA coaches traders across the Netherlands and Belgium, in English and in Dutch. Sessions run remotely, so your location inside the Benelux makes no difference. The work covers execution under pressure and the behaviour patterns behind rule breaking, which is the part most Dutch trading education leaves out.
Coaching is delivered by two coaches with their own screen time rather than a purely academic background. Read more about MTA or how the process works.
When do you need a trading coach?
Coaching becomes worth it once the gap between knowing and doing is your largest cost. A few signals that point there:
- Your backtest works and your live results do not. Same system, different behaviour once real money is on the line.
- You know the mistake before you make it. The insight is already there, the execution is not.
- You switch strategy after every bad week. The pattern simply moves with you.
- You get close to the target and stall. The last few percent of a prop firm challenge cost discipline, not knowledge.
- Your journal repeats the same line. Writing it down alone did not change the behaviour.
Trading coach, trading psychologist or psychologist: who do you need?
These three get used interchangeably, which sends people to the wrong kind of help. The difference is what you want to change, and how far it reaches beyond your trading.
| Your situation | What you are looking for | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
| You know your strategy but do not execute it under pressure | Training on behaviour and execution | A trading coach |
| You want to understand why your brain does this, and it only shows up around trading | Insight plus training | A trading coach or a trading psychologist |
| Anxiety, low mood, compulsion or addiction that also plays out beyond your trading | Treatment | Your doctor or a registered psychologist |
MTA belongs in the first two rows. Our coaches are coaches and not psychologists, and coaching here is performance conditioning: no therapy, no diagnosis and no substitute for professional care. If you recognise yourself in the third row, start with your doctor. That is where you get help matched to what is actually going on.
How does coaching at MTA work?
The order is fixed, because structure without a diagnosis rarely sticks.
- Self-scan. Six situations from real trading days show which of the five patterns drives you under pressure.
- Free intake call. A conversation with Jake about where your execution breaks, and whether coaching changes that.
- Structure that fits. Rules matched to your pattern. The Hunter gets a cooldown, the Doubter gets planned exposure.
- Weekly calls and daily Discord. The real work happens between sessions, so the support runs there too.
- Measure the process. Whether you followed your plan is something you control. What the market did that week is not.

Frequently asked questions about trading coaching
Is a trading coach the same as a trading psychologist?
No. A trading coach trains behaviour and execution. A psychologist works with clinical complaints and treatment. MTA coaches are coaches, not psychologists, and coaching is not therapy or diagnosis. If complaints reach beyond your trading, start with your doctor.
When is trading coaching worth it?
Once you know what to do and do not do it under pressure. If your strategy itself is not settled yet, a framework or a course is the better first step. Coaching works on the gap between knowing and doing, not on the gap in your knowledge.
What does coaching at MTA cost?
MTA does not publish a standard price. Programmes differ per person, so price is discussed in the free intake call once it is clear where your execution breaks.
Does MTA work with prop firms?
Yes. Students trade with capital from a prop firm, so you can start with little capital of your own. Trading carries risk and there is no guarantee of results.
Not sure which pattern drives you?
Take the free self-scan: six situations from real trading days, two minutes, and you know which pattern breaks your execution.
